Aelwyn is one of the cofounders of Pawb, and takes a lead in planning and implementing
many of the company’s projects and ongoing business.
He also develops new projects and is responsible for
overseeing the technical and technological aspects of
the company.
Originally from Gwynedd, he has lived and worked in
several different cities and countries before settling
in Cardiff. A Welsh-speaker, he is also fluent in Spanish,
having worked in the Basque Country for five years,
as a language teacher and translator. He attended Leeds
University as both undergraduate and for his postgraduate
studies, which concentrated on the effectiveness of
bilingual education policies.
After returning to Wales, he joined Broadcasting Support
Services as a project officer responsible for the management
of a broad range of projects including the S4C Viewers
Hotline. He had the opportunity of actively participating
in corporate level initiatives for the UK charity such
as the successful Investors in People team. Aelwyn has
a wealth of project management experience, having co-ordinated,
recruited, supervised and delivered everything from
short-term helplines to IVR and SMS services for the
whole range of broadcast genres. He also has production
experience and is used to working with both broadcasters
and individual production companies. He particularly
enjoys researching and writing support material for
documentary and current affairs, and has a portfolio
of web sites and projects completed for both S4C and
the BBC.
Aelwyn has extensive involvement with the voluntary
sector and various community initiatives, chairing local
regeneration groups and taking an active part on the
management committee of a successful drugs charity in
Cardiff, as well as participating in sector research
groups and conferences. |
